Rules of The Park Back to Top
 
  1. The speed limit is 20km/h. Please be aware of the speed humps on the resort.
  2. Parking on the grass is strictly prohibited. All vehicles are to park in the designated areas, only three vehicles are allowed per chalet at any given time.
  3. Please do not feed the monkeys and cats. Feeding will result in the monkeys and cats no longer scavenging for their food as they rely on the guests to feed them. They become extremely aggressive when they are hungry and could attack small children.
  4. Picnicking and fires are only permitted in designated areas.
  5. No pets are allowed.
  6. Alcohol brought onto the resort may only be consumed in the chalets and designated areas.
  7. It is strictly prohibited to disturb the Fauna and Flora.
  8. No motorbikes, motorised scooters or four wheelers of any kind are permitted on the resort.
  9. The launching of boats and jetskis is not permitted from the resort and boaters are to observe the "No wake" regulation on the river. Launching facilities are available at the Hartbeespoort Boat club next to the "Caribbean Beach Club" near Kosmos. Trailers can be left at the main gate, regrettably at the owner's own risk.
  10. Your children must be supervised in the children's playground and the pool areas as no lifesavers are on the resort.
  11. Please do not litter. Leave the resort in the condition in which you would like to find it. Any person caught littering will be fined.
  12. Guests staying on the resort are permitted one motor vehicle of visitors free of charge at any time. Any additional motor vehicle may be allowed at management's discretion and will be charged a fee.
  13. Day visitor members using the resort are permitted entry free of charge in one vehicle and only one extra vehicle will be permitted which will pay an entrance fee.
  14. All golfers are to report to the golf shop before teeing off. The golf course will be open from 07h00 to 18h00 weekdays and 06h00 to 18h00 on weekends. Please be advised that the Resort reserves the right to host Corporate Golf Functions in the Public areas to generate third party income.
  15. Shareholders who are not in possession of a valid membership card will not be permitted entry to the resort.
  16. The pitching of tents, camping or caravanning is strictly forbidden.
  17. Cycling is not permitted on any of the footpaths or within the vicinity of the sport centre.
  18. Practicing golf on the course is strictly prohibited.
  19. Only one membership card per timeshare week will be issued to shareholders, although members can nominate their children to a maximum of 5 as users on their membership card.
  20. Unless specific arrangements have been made with management day visitors are required to vacate the resort before 18h00 from May to September and before 19h00 from October to April.
  21. The playing of loud music by guests at the chalets and picnic areas is strictly forbidden. Please be advised that the Resort reserves the right to host Public functions in Public areas to generate third party income. Although the playing of music and speaking over the microphone during these events is inevitable, management will ensure that the noise levels will quiet down by 22h00.
  22. A maximum of 6 persons in the chalets, 5 persons in the lodges and 4 persons in the cabanas/lodges are permitted. Carry cots and cribs are not included as part of the above numbers.
  23. Failure to checkout timeously will result in you forfeiting your key deposit. Please note checkout times - weekdays at 10h00 and Sundays at 11h00.
  24. Being declared a bird sanctuary it is prohibited to catch or destroy any birdlife.
  25. Smoking is prohibited in the public areas.
  26. Damages to resort property will result in the person or persons being removed from the resort and will be held liable for any costs incurred.
  27. All persons enter the resort at their own risk and the Company will not be held responsible for any damages, injury, death or any other claims whatsoever.
  28. Only guests with valid drivers' licenses are permitted to drive vehicles on the resort.

Feral Cats

Dear Shareholders,

Feral Squad is very happy to report that we had a very successful weekend of cat-neutering at Magalies Park. At first I was a bit worried. It was the second time we trapped there, so the cats were wary of the traps, and the rain came down so hard I thought it was hailing.

I started trapping Friday at 17:00 and it started to rain at 21:00. By then I had trapped 21 cats, although some of them had already been "done" the first time we were there. I set my alarm for 02:00 the Saturday morning to continue trapping, but unfortunately it was still raining. Dr Peter and his assistants came out at 06:30 and began operating.

Feral Squad would like to thank Liz Hillman for the funds she raised to make a difference in the lives of these cats. Our thanks also go to Magaliespark for supporting us in sterlising the cats and for making the feeding programs possible, and of course to Dr Peter Smith and Judy from Onderstepoort, without whom we could not have done anything. We would like to return early next year to continue.
